The second episode, titled "Post Mortem," of the Apple TV+ miniseries "Manhunt" showed us the direction of where this is all going. And while it is definitely taking a different approach, I'm still finding it interesting.

I tried to keep this recap video short but it was impossible. The story had so many micro-scenes with all of these little things they wanted the viewers to know, and in the process I'm guessing they confused a lot of people. Even my wonderful husband who has heard the audiobook at least 4 times - and has to listen to me talk all the time about the assassination - was confused. Hopefully this will help people understand the players & scenes a little better.

Because it's straying from the book, I'm going to start doing not just a recap and deep dive, but I'm also going to a facts-vs-fiction-type of analysis, so you have a better understanding of what's real, what's not, and also provide some more in depth detail on some of the topics mentioned. I didn't have time to do that for this episode, but I will be doing that moving forward. I'd like to come back and do fact vs fiction for episodes one and two, I'm just not sure if time will allow it.

Let me know in the comments what you think of this episode. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them.

Author's note: While the miniseries is proving to be a great watch, I have to also recommend the book it's based on. "Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln's Killer" by James L. Swanson has been a favorite of mine since it came out. It reads like a murder mystery, and if you choose the Audible version, I prefer the version read by Richard Thomas.
